Intumescent Coatings Markets Worldwide 2018-2019-2020-21-22-23-24-2025
Hydrocarbon, Cellulosic, Modified hydrocarbon and Others
Technologies, applications, competition, markets and development
Overview
Passive fire protection tends to fall into one of the following three categories:
dense concrete, lightweight cementitious and intumescent coating.
Depending on the application and costs. The reasons for that are discussed
in this Study. Cementitious Passive Fire Protection is a extra study please see
http://www.hkc22.com/cementitious.html
and the leading world study

The Passive Fire Protection Markets worldwide grow with high increase depending by
countries law and regulations, compliance and market growth. PFP safe life and assets.
Intumescent coatings are increasing as one part of the PFP markets. Intumescent coatings
will dominate the future markets in many applications because of technology improvements,
price and efficiencies .Applied on or off-site and can be used on buildings
requiring 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes fire resistance. This study describes the state and
developments of the worldmarkets to 2025 and 2030
From a wide range of PFP products available there are two main categories:
Category 1– Cellulosic fire protection developed for use on civil construction and infrastructure
projects. Intumescent coatings for this category are generally known as “thin film,
” with application thicknesses typically up to about 1 mm. The material swells rapidly
(intumesces) to up to 60 times the original thickness when exposed to fire.
Category 2 - Hydrocarbon, Jet and Rapid Rise fire protection developed for high-risk
environments such as oil rigs and refineries. Intumescent coatings for this category are
often labeled “thick film,” with their thickness measured in millimetres rather than microns.
The required coating can be anything from 3 to 20 mm thick, depending on the desired level of fire resistance.
Whereas the growth in Europe and USA is slow the growth rates in Asia are high and expected to increase further.
12 companies dominate the worldmarkets today but competition is fierce, mainly from asia, china and more companies
will play an important role in this market in the future. The market worldwide will be over 6.5 bn US $ by 2020. This study is about fire protective coatings only and not other protective coatings like corrosion and so on.
